Kann Design Kunst sein?
Für meine Bachelorarbeit habe ich mich entschieden, ein Buch zu gestalten. Zum einen, weil ich noch nie ein Buch so detailliert gestalten konnte, zum anderen passt eine Publikation am besten zu meinem Thema "Kann Design Kunst sein? So kam das Buch zu seinem Titel: Kann Design Kunst sein? Die Frage ist kurz und bündig, sie besteht aus Wörtern, die alle eine ähnliche Länge haben und sich daher gut für Design eignen.
Bücher spielen in Kunst und Design eine große Rolle, zum Beispiel gibt es zu jeder Ausstellung in einem Museum, egal ob Kunst oder Design, einen Ausstellungskatalog, den die Besucher kaufen können und sich immer wieder in die Ausstellung hineinversetzen oder etwas Bestimmtes nachschlagen können. Bücher spiegeln das Wissen über Kunst und Design wider, und zusätzlich, wenn es sich um eine Kunstpublikation handelt, ist das Design mit der ausgewählten Kunst verbunden, das Design ist in diesem Fall der Träger der Information, also der Kunst. Dadurch wird automatisch eine Verbindung zwischen den beiden Gattungen hergestellt.
Der Inhalt des Buches sind zum einen die Texte meiner Bachelorarbeit, zum anderen wird das Buch durch einzelne Kurzbiografien der wichtigsten Künstler und Designer zu diesem Thema ergänzt. Auf diese Weise kann der Leser die Informationen aus der Theorie direkt mit konkreten Personen und Bildern verknüpfen. Der Leser wird so beim Lesen von der Recherche entlastet und kann sich ganz auf die gestellte Frage konzentrieren: "Kann Design Kunst sein?
Letztlich ist das Buch ein Sachbuch, das dem Leser Spaß machen und ihn visuell anregen soll. Ziel des Buches ist es, die Frage, ob Design Kunst sein kann, zugänglicher zu machen und den Diskurs um Lösungen anzuregen.

Can design be art?
For my bachelor project, I decided to design a book. On the one hand, because I have never before been able to design a book in such detail, on the other hand, a publication fits best with my topic "Can design be art? That's how the book got its title: Can Design Be Art? The question is short and to the point, it consists of words that all have a similar length and are therefore well suited to design.
Books play a big role in art and design, for example, every exhibition in a museum, whether it is art or design, comes with an exhibition catalogue that the visitors can buy and can put themselves in the exhibition again and again or look up something specific. Books reflect the knowledge of art and design, and in addition, if it is an art publication, design is linked to the selected art, the design is in this case the carrier of the information, or the art. This automatically creates a connection between the two genres.
The content of the book is, on the one hand, the texts of my bachelor's thesis and, on the other hand, the book is supplemented with individual short biographies of the most important artists and designers on this subject. In this way, the reader can directly connect the information from the theory with concrete people and images.
